Booga Update 10/24/06
Dear Family & Friends,
I am 9 months old today. I didn't have much of a growth spurt this month so, my weight is 21 lbs + 2 ozs and I'm 28 inches long. I'm still crawling, pulling myself up on things, standing while holding on to something, and trying to get this walking thing down. Hopefully, I'll be able to do it without holding on to things by next month. I have a total of four teeth now...two on the top and two on the bottom! In addition to the usual starter foods, I'm enjoying new stages of baby food and a variety of finger foods. I love clapping my hands and just recently, I learned how to shake my head to say "no". There are those who think I'm just shaking my head with no concept of what I mean but, I know better. I talk a lot but I'm not saying anything that anyone can really understand. I also like to scream when I'm really happy. I'm still having a good time at day care. I have a new friend that just started coming this month. She is around my same age, really nice, and cute! I've been trying to find out what her name is but she probably doesn't understand what I'm asking her and I don't understand what she is saying either. Communication is a little tough right now but, I'm sure we will both get better at it in time. Anyhoo, it feels good to have someone there that I can relate to and play with.
Now that summer's over and the weather is beginning to change, I've been sticking closer to home. My Cousin Joyce from Jacksonville, FL came to Philadelphia for a one-week visit with her auntie, my Great Grandmother "Pumpkin Pie". I really enjoyed meeting and spending time with her while she was here. Things were a little weird around my house for a couple of weeks this month because my Grandmother caught a cold that later turned into pneumonia. She was very sick and in the hospital for a week. I missed her not being around the house and picking me up from day care. My Mommy took me to see her while she was in the hospital and that made my Grandmother really happy. I had a good time with all the nurses while I was there too. They were all very friendly and nice to me. My Grandmother is back home now and everything is back to normal. As always, my Mommy, Grandmother, and Pop-Pop, all said to tell you "hello". We also want to thank you for your concern and prayers during my Grandmother's illness.

Cousin Joyce Comes To Visit!

My Mommy wanted to know if "The Booga" was hungry?
"Yes, and I don't want that baby food and milk you brought either. I'll have everything on this kid's menu, please."

Me & My Mommy
A Mother is...
A mother is someone who will always be there,
in times of trouble and times of despair.
She will be your friend when you are alone,
and stay by your side without a mumble or groan.
She will give you all she has and when she is through,
she will reach in her heart and give her love too.
She will try her best to raise you up right,
and pass on her knowledge so you will make it in life.
She will teach you what is good and protect you from the bad,
and when you fail to listen her heart will become sad.
She will help you with problems by getting truly involved,
for no problem is too great for a mother to solve.
She will dry your eyes when you shed a few tears,
and come to your rescue when you panic in fear.
All these things and much more too,
are why a mother's love is sincere and true.
So, always be thankful to the LORD up above,
for blessing you with a mother who loves.
